The event started with a breakfast followed by a putting contest and a ball drop from a helicopter. The golf tournament started at 11am with a 4 person scramble and a shot gun start. Throughout the day Tommy Bahama’s restaurant provided Food and drinks for all participants on the course. Monday evening Tommy Bahama sponsored a wine and cheese party followed by a dinner. The evening festivities concluded with a silent and live auction.
John Nguyen, General Manager of Tommy Bahama, explained that all Tommy Bahama restaurants commit to a charity each year as a way of giving back to the community. This is the 5th year Tommy Bahama has been on the big island and involved in a charity event. Last year’s event raised over $46,000 for North Hawaii Hospice and the goal this year is to exceed that amount.
