The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center and the United States Geological Service say an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.1 has hit Colombia, but no tsunami is forecast for the Pacific region.
There are no immediate reports of damage or injuries in the region. There were also no local tsunami expected.
The United States Geological Survey says the quake struck at 11:32 a.m. local time, at 6:32 a.m. Hawaii Standard Time, about 30 miles from the regional capital of Popayan. The coordinates were 2.0 North, 76.6 West, around 140 kilometers deep. The USGS said they do not plan to issue any additional updates.
