Aloha Performing Arts Company continues its Education Program lineup with several classes this fall. Artistic Director Jerry Tracy will begin his next session of Tuesday Troupers on October 9. The class, for 8 through 12 year olds who are able to read, runs from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. on Tuesdays through November 20, excluding Election Day, November 6. The focus of the next session will be dramatizing personal stories of gratitude. The venue is Aloha Theatre and the tuition is $60.
In the new year, Felicity Johnson will continue her popular Intergenerational Theatre Class, on Thursdays, 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the theatre. The next session beings January 5, and the cost is $10 per class. All ages are welcome. Aloha Teen Theatre, for ages 13 through 18, meets regularly on Fridays from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the APAC Loft. ATT adviser is Sue Boyum, and new members can join at any time to create and share performance and fundraising opportunities.
Several new classes will be offered this fall. APAC Technical Director Ariana Bassett will teach “Technology in Theatre” on Mondays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., November 5 through 26. Tuition for this course is $40, and the focus will be on developing the skills needed to execute lighting and sound designs. Are you uncomfortable speaking in front of a group? Many people are. Never fear, Karen Barry will offer a Public Speaking class for teens and adults for the same tuition rate, with classes from 5:30 to 6:30 on November 7, 8, 14, and 15. A special Halloween Maskmaking Workshop, including games and holiday activities, for keiki ages 5 to 12, will be led by Carol Conner at the APAC Loft from 10 a.m. til 1:00 p.m. on Saturday October 27. Each child should bring a lunch, and drinks and all materials needed will be provided. Tuition for this play day workshop is $25.
