Hawaii County Police have reported that 68-year-old Edward Woyciehowicz of Missoula, Montana, thought to have drowned, actually died of cardiac arrest.  An autopsy was conducted last week.

The man was swimming at Kahalu’u Beach in Kona on Tuesday, April 10 when lifeguards spotted him floating in the water.   Lifeguards pulled him from the water and began cardio-pulmonary resuscitation.   Hawaii County Fire Department personnel responded and continued CPR.   They took Woyciehowicz to Kona Community Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
