BYU-Hawaii’s Jon Scolari sits atop the leader board of the Pacific West Conference Men’s Golf Championship on the Waikoloa Kings’ Course at the Waikoloa Beach Resort.
The final round’s shotgun start is slated for 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The public is invited to watch.
Scolari turned in a 5-under-par 139 after the first two rounds in which he was the only player to record back-to-back sub-par rounds opening with a 3-under-par 69 followed by a 2-under-par 70.
Four players are tied for 2nd place at 2-under-par 142. Included in the mix are Grand Canyon’s Marcus Synegal (72-70) and Ryan Mahoney (74-68), California Baptist’s Steven Watson (69-73) and Academy of Art’s Stuart Favretto (76-66).
Grand Canyon has a nine-stroke lead in the team race after turning in a 572 (289-283). Tied for second are host University of Hawaii at Hilo and Dixie State (581), California Baptist (590), Hawaii Pacific (592), BYU-Hawaii (595), Academy of Art (600), Notre Dame de Namur (603), Dominican (638) and Chaminade (729).
