Central America Earthquake Generates Small Tsunami, Warnings Now Pau

The Central America earthquake, listed as 7.4 by the United States Geological Survey, generated small tsunami waves at three locations near the quake’s epicenter.  There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.    The small tsunami at Acajutla, El Salvador, Dart, and La Union, El Salvador and were under a foot at each location.

The earthquake hit at 6:58 HST, and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no threat of tsunami for Hawaii but they issued tsunami warnings for Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, Panama, and Mexico.

All tsunami warnings have been cancelled.
