Hawaii County Prosecuting Attorney Jay Kimura has announced he will resign and retire from County service on April 1.  The 59-year-old Kimura has been with the prosecutor’s office since he got his law degree from California Western School of Law in 1979.    He says he plans to move to Maui where he will care for his elderly mother and practice law.  Kimura’s wife, Louann, is currently an administrator at Waiakea High School.  Kimura’s position will be filled by First Deputy Prosecutor Charlene Iboshi.  The position is an elected one, and the post will be up for grabs in the 2012 election.
