October 10, 2011
By

The Investigation Discovery Channel, part of the Discovery Channel family of stations, will air a one-hour program on the 1991 murder of Dana Ireland on Tuesday, Oct. 11, 6-7 p.m., on channel 192.    Oceanic Cablevision does not carry the network and it appears it’s only available to Hawaii Island DISH TV subscribers.

Among the people on camera will be Rod Thompson, former reporter for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and now Big Island Press Club treasurer and newsletter editor.    Former UH Hilo Political Science Professor Rick Castberg, who co-authored a book about the murder with Chris Loos, will also be on the program.  Loos was a radio reporter with KIPA at the time before going to work for the Hawaii Tribune-Herald.  Their book “Murder in Paradise” is available through Amazon.com.

The episode is part of a show called “Cold Blood.”
