Hawaii County Department of Public Works says the mauka part of Henry Street, at the intersection of Palani Road, will completely reopen on Thursday, April 19. Vehicles will be able to go mauka on Henry Street and turn either makai or mauka on Palani Road. They will also be able to drive down Palani Road and again turn on Henry Street, and access stores in the Crossroads Shopping Center area.
The intersection has been closed for work related to the new Ane Keohokalole Highway since the afternoon of Tuesday, April 10.
The entire Ane Keohokalole Highway from Henry Street to Kealakehe Parkway is scheduled to open sometime in May. An extension of Ane Keohokalole, without all the features of the first segment, will also open from Kealakehe Parkway to Hina Lani, allowing access to the Kaloko Light Industrial Area, the stores near Costco, without using Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway.
