Hospice of Hilo invites the community to their 8th Annual Celebration of Life, coming Saturday, May 5 at Wailoa State Park in Hilo. The annual event is an opportunity for the community to remember and celebrate loved ones who have passed away.
Activities and entertainment begin at 3:00 p.m. Then at 4:00 p.m. everybody is encouraged to join “A Walk to Remember”, a 2.25 mile stroll through Wailoa State Park and the surrounding area in memory and in honor of your loved one.
Following the walk, enjoy ono food and live music by Vizion 20/20, Body and Soul and the Brown Ohana. Then at sunset the “Lights of Remembrance” launch begins.
Design a luminary and enjoy the serene journey of lanterns down the Wailoa River. Luminaries are available for $20 in advance or $25 at the event.
This event is designed to celebrate life and share in remembrance of loved ones. Share stories, meet new friends, and learn about programs provided by Hospice of Hilo.
Every day Hospice of Hilo celebrates life. This is a free community event filled with food, fun and most importantly, friends.
Hospice provides emotional and medical support to patients and families facing a life-limiting illness and injury, through holistic care provided by nurses, social workers, counselors and trained volunteers. Hospice care focuses on quality of lif eand honors the dignity of each individual, offering care and comfort when cure is no longer possible.
