The County of Hawai‘i Department of Parks and Recreation is hosting an informational meeting to talk about the Kealakehe Regional Park Master Plan on Thursday, September 27, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be at West Hawaii Civic Center, at the intersection of Kealakehe Parkway and Ane Keohokalole Highway, Building G, the Community Meeting Hale.
The County is preparing a master plan for a new regional park on a 190-acre site in Kealakehe, North Kona [TMK (3)7-4-020:007]. The Park would be fronting Queen Ka’ahumanu Highway and just below the new proposed judiciary complex.
The master planning effort will develop a comprehensive vision for the future development of the Kealakehe Regional Park over the next 20 years.
At the meeting, Parks and Recreation will give an update on the planning process and ask for input on what recreational activities and land uses should be at the park. This will be the first of three planned public meetings/workshops.
