Today, Sunday, September 2, there’s a blessing at Kohala Mountain Farm to celebrate their new corn maze. The event goes from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.
Kohala Mountain Farm is on Kohala Mountain Road, Highway 250, between Mile Markers 12 and 13, on the makai side of the road near Kahua Ranch. They invite families to bring their picnic blanket, and they also suggest close toed shoes and long pants. They’ll be serving Kahua Ranch burgers as well as farm-grown vegetables and offering tours of the new corn maze. They will be presenting the awards for their corn maze design contest, which was open to high schoolers taking part in their school’s garden program.
They noted that Kahua Ranch has moved their bulls out of the adjacent field so there’s no worry.
The corn maze will be open to the public in October, the weekends of the October 13-14, 20-21, and 27-28. The corn maze is open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. along with their pumpkin patch.
After the event today, you should be able to see video of the corn maze at www.bigislandvideonews.com.
