Members of the Lions Club of Kona worked together on a civic improvement project on Saturday, October 13. More than 15 volunteers worked together to build and paint five wooden picnic tables and twelve concrete benches.
All benches and picnic tables will be donated to schools and parks in West Hawaii, including Kona Pacific Public Charter School in Kealakekua.
Schools, parks and non-profit organizations interested in receiving a donated bench or picnic table can call Lion Glenn Uchimura at (808) 895-8564 or guch51@hawaii.rr.com.
The Lions Club of Kona has roughly 65 members and meets on the 3rd Monday of every month at 6:30 pm at Teshima¹s Restaurant.
