Police Arrest Hilo Man for Attempted Murder

Big Island police have located 34-year-old Jarvis Naoki Higa of Hilo, who was wanted in connection with an attempted murder investigation.

Higa was located Monday morning (July 23) in Mountain View. He was arrested without incident at 10:15 a.m. on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder.

At 1:10 a.m. Wednesday (July 18), police responded to a report of a man threatening a 34-year-old Hilo man with a firearm. Police determined that a round was discharged in the parking lot of the Orchid Manor condominium complex on Kalanianaole Avenue in Hilo before the suspect fled the area. The victim was not injured.
