The Hilo Community Players continue with their tradition of presenting Shakespeare in the Park with this year’s production of Richard III. It opens this evening, Thursday, July 12, and runs through July 22, with performances Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7:30 and Sundays at 2 p.m. Performances are outdoors, rain or shine, and the public should bring mats or low chairs to sit on and be prepared for rain.
The Shakespeare in the Park tradition is a wonderful way to see Shakespeare. The actors are some of the most talented. This production is directed by Jackie Pualani Johnson from UH Hilo, and she’s a terrific force all alone and is guiding the actors to their highest and best work.
There’s no charge.
