Sheraton Has New Look, New Name, New Store

The Flying Fish has opened its doors at Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa. This new retail center and activities headquarters provides a one-stop-shop for visitors and kama’aina  who may be looking to rent stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and bicycles, or purchase everything from Olu Kai sandals and Hawaii designer Sig Zane’s colorful tropical print attire, to sun lotion, sun shades and cold beverages.

The new vendor is part of the Sheraton’s relook and redo.  The resort has been renamed from the Sheraton Keauhou to the Sheraton Kona, to take advantage of the well-known and easier-to-prounounce and spell “Kona” rather than “Keauhou.”  The resort has been remodeling and will have its grand reopening and blessing ceremony this Friday, August 31, at noon.  Noted Hilo designer Sig Zane has been instrumental in the redesign.
