Lions Club Vision Charity Walk Set for September 30

The West Hawaii Lions Club consisting of the Hamakua, Waimea, Waikoloa, Kohala, Kaloko Branch, Kailua Kona, and Lions Club of Kona will be holding a charity walk- Walk for Vision and Hearing” to benefit the Hawaii Lions Foundation.   The Hawaii Lions Foundation, is the non-profit arm of Hawaii Lions. One of their programs, includes the “Uninsured/Underinsured” hearing and vision program for Hawaii school children. Charity Walk Nets $1.3 Million Statewide–$194 K Here

The statewide Charity Walk collected $1,371,955 statewide, setting a record for the second year in a row.  The Hawaii Island Charity Walk, held  on Saturday, May 12, at Queen’s Marketplace and Waikoloa Resort, collected $194,266, a record for the island.  The Hawaii Island goal was $175,000.   Other islands had Charity Walks in the month of May.  More than 200 nonprofit organizations statewide will benefit from the funds raised.

Waiakea Warriors Are State Baseball Champs

The Honolulu Star-Advertiser calls it “an historic night” for the Waiakea High School baseball team.  Participants in Saturday morning’s Charity Walk at Waikoloa Resort called it “awesome.”   All of that was true Friday night as the Waiakea High School boys defeated Baldwin High School on Oahu 5 to 2, capturing the Division I title of the Wally Yonamine Foundation/HHSAA Baseball State Championships. Charity Walk Coming Saturday to Waikoloa

The annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk is coming Saturday, May 12 at the Waikoloa Resort.  The event is intended not only to be a fun community gathering, but to raise money for Hawaii Island charities.   The event happens statewide, not just on Hawaii Island but also Maui, Oahu, Moloka’i, and Kaua’i.   The event began in 1974, when the Hawai‘i Hotel & Lodging Association sponsored a “Superwalk” to benefit one major charitable organization.  In 1978, the Hawai‘i Hotel & Lodging Association members voted to extend the reach of support offered by the walk’s fund-raising capability. …

Royal Kona Resort to Have Cinco de Mayo Party for Charity

Royal Kona Resort will present a  Cinco De Mayo Food & Craft Fair on Saturday, May 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.   Proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Hawaii Island Visitor Industry Charity Walk.  The Charity Walk this year will be held on Saturday, May 12, and will be held on Hawaii Island, Oahu, Maui, Moloka’i, and Kaua’i.   The Royal Kona Resort’s Cinco De Mayo Fair will offer Mexican cuisine, crafts and goods from local vendors, Mexican music, and piñatas for the keiki.
