From Hawaii County Police: Big Island police are investigating the robbery of a California man Monday night (October 15) in Kona. At 10:35 p.m., Kona patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery in the rear parking lot of Ali’i Sunset Plaza, which is located between Kuakini Highway and Ali’i Drive in Kailua-Kona. A 50-year-old Los Angeles man reported that he walked in the direction of a group of males at the rear of the plaza, where he was attacked by two of them. Police Looking for Flatbed Trailer

Big Island Police are searching for a stolen homemade flatbed utility trailer. The trailer was last seen on September 17 in the area of Leila Road in the Fern Forest subdivision in Puna. It is described as 16-feet long with newly-painted black fenders, double axles, four new tires, plastic mats and a wooden base. The number “294” is welded to the front supporting frame in large visible numbers. Police ask that anyone with information on the trailer’s whereabouts call Officer Shawn Matsuda at 965-2716. From Hawaii County Police: A 32-year-old Utah woman died Monday (October 8) from a motorcycle crash in the area of Akoni Pule Highway at the 28-mile marker in the area known as Waikama, close to Polulu Valley.   The crash happened around 10:30 a.m. A 35-year-old Utah man was operating a rented 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle and traveling northwest on Akoni Pule Highway with his wife riding on the back, when he swerved to avoid a car that crossed the centerline into his lane. From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police are investigating a reported robbery that occurred early Saturday morning in Puna. On October 6 at about 3 a.m., a 67-year-old Volcano man reported that he was filling water containers at the county water spigots in Kurtistown when he was confronted by a lone male, who initially started a conversation with him. The suspect reportedly assaulted the victim and stole his wallet. Another male suspect appeared and was seen rummaging through the victim’s parked vehicle. Both suspects fled the area on foot. Police Arrest Mountain View Man for Puna Murder

Big Island Police have arrested a 48-year-old Mountain View man, Walter Boyd Bremmer, for a murder that occurred earlier this year in Puna. On January 28, the body of 52-year-old Robert John Leong was found at a home in the Eden Roc subdivision. An autopsy determined that the victim died from a combination of ligature strangulation and a brain injury from a gunshot wound. At 6:45 p.m. Wednesday (October 3), detectives from the Area I Criminal Investigations Section arrested Walter Boyd Bremmer on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with the investigation. On September 12, police arrested 31-year-old Joshua Watan of Kealakekua. Hawai`i Prosecuting Attorney, Charlene Iboshi, announced Friday that John Albert Wagner, Jr. was convicted of methamphetamine trafficking in the first degree and two counts of prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia.   On Thursday, September 13, 2012, a jury returned a verdict of guilty as charged in this case.  Sentencing in this matter is now scheduled for November 16, 2012 at 8:00 A.M. before the Honorable Elizabeth A. The Hawaii Police Department has located and arrested several individuals in connection with the burglaries and other crimes in South Kona.  The Police Department credits citizens and neighborhood watch groups for their extra vigilance following last Tuesday’s community meeting at Konawaena High.  Police have located and arrested Nicole Adams, Michael Galon, Sean Gregory, Curtis “Hoku” Kekahuna Jr., and Joshua Watan. Captain Richard Sherlock said Wednesday that police had arrested Joshua Watan, who had previously been arrested in late August,  but was out on bail.  However, they’ve nabbed him again for various offenses.  Police have not yet released details of the arrest nor the charges.
