Police Ask Again for Help Finding Escapee

From Hawaii Island Police: Big Island police are looking for a 31-year-old Kailua-Kona man who  escaped from a correctional facility Tuesday (August 14.). Ryan James Jeffries-Hamar was  seen fleeing from Hale Nani off Route 11 Tuesday at about 2 p.m. He is described as Caucasian, about 5-foot-7, about 170 pounds with blue eyes and short reddish-blond hair. He has a tattoo along his entire right arm.  And within the past 24 hours he’s been seen in the Kainaliu and Kailua-Kona areas. From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police are renewing their request for the public’s help in identifying possible suspects in a burglary and fire on May 30 in Puna. At approximately 5:19 a.m. on May 30, police and Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a structure fire in Shipman Industrial Park. Upon arrival, they found a warehouse located on Kipimana Street fully engulfed in flames. Investigation revealed that the front gate chain was severed to gain entrance to the premises. On Wednesday morning (June 27) shortly after 6 a.m., police responded to a convenience store in the upper Kaumana Drive area, where a 41-year-old Hilo man reported that while on his morning walk at about 4:30 a.m., he was approached by two male suspects standing near a car at the intersection of Kaumana Drive and the Puainako Avenue extension. From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police are investigating a reported robbery in Hilo on Tuesday night (April 17). At about 5:39 p.m. Tuesday, South Hilo patrol officers responded to a report of a purse snatching in Downtown Hilo. They learned that an 86-year-old Hilo woman had been walking along Haili Street near a movie theater when an unknown male pushed her from behind—causing her to fall—and stole her purse. Around 8 p.m. on December 6, a 24-year-old female student was reportedly accosted by a lone male suspect, who attempted to forcibly steal items she had in her possession. From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island Police are looking for a 19-year-old man in connection with an armed robbery in Hilo the Saturday morning (September 3) at a convenience store in Wai?kea Uka. South Hilo patrol officers responded to a 6:16 a.m. call reporting that three male suspects entered the store and then one of them suspects pulled out a gun, showed it to the clerk and ordered her to open the cash register.
