From Hawaii Police Department: A 65-year-old Hawi man died Tuesday (September 4) from injuries he sustained in a motorcycle crash Monday (September 3) on Akoni Pule Highway, 1 mile west of Pololu Loop in North Kohala. The man was identified as James R. Wright of a Hawi address. Responding to a 1:21 p.m. call, North Kohala patrol officers determined that the motorcyclist was traveling east on Akoni Pule Highway when he crossed the centerline and ran off the left side of the road, hitting a tree. From Hawaii Police Department: A 55-year-old Hilo man died Sunday (August 26) at 4:05 p.m. at Hilo Medical Center from injuries he received in a motor vehicle/motorcycle crash at the intersection of Kino’ole Street and Mohouli Street on July 13. The man was identified as Earl M. Arakaki, of a Hilo address. From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police have initiated a coroner’s inquest case in connection with the death of a fisherman over the weekend. South Hilo patrol officers responded to a 3:09 p.m. report Saturday (August 25) and learned that 37-year-old Ian Tengan of Hilo had been fishing at the water’s edge in an area known as “23 Flats” in Honomu, when he disappeared. The State hospital system is moving to the next generation of patient care by implementing a new medical records system statewide.. Around 100 medical, hospital, and information technology professionals will spend a month at Kona Community Hospital starting next Monday to field test the new system. From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police are looking for a 27-year-old Hilo man who was reported missing. Conrad Kimo Mattos is described as Portuguese, about 5-foot-4, about 150 pounds, with short brown hair, brown eyes and a fair complexion. He was last seen at Hilo Medical Center on August 12 at about 5:30 a.m. He reportedly left prior to being discharged and may need additional treatment for a medical condition. Hawaii County Fire and Rescue Teams responded Tuesday night around 9:50 p.m. to reports of a man who had fallen from the Pukihae Bridge in Hilo, just north of Hilo town on Highway 19 near the 3 mile marker. They found a 24-year-old man lying on the bank of the Pukihae Stream.  He was awake and responsive.  He had apparently fallen 30 feet from the bridge to the stream. Possible Baby Abuse Case in Kealakekua

From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police have initiated an abuse of a family/household member investigation in connection with an injured infant. At approximately 9:30 a.m. Friday (July 20), Kona patrol officers responded to Kona Community Hospital, where a 3-month-old Kealakekua girl had been admitted for burns reportedly caused by a hot bath. A Waimea-born cowboy who began his career  at Parker Ranch was killed over the weekend in front of his home on Windward Oahu.   The Rev. Motorcycle Rider Hits Car, Is Seriously Injured

Hawai’i  Fire Department’s Waikoloa Station responded to a motorcycle crash on Mamalahoa Highway, Highway 190, just before 10 p.m. Friday night.  The crash was near the 17 Mile Marker on the Waimea side of Pu’uanahulu. Fire/rescue personnel found a 41-year-old man on the road unresponsive.  He had been driving the motorcycle.  Witnesses said he lost control of his bike and struck an oncoming car.  The motorcycle rider was transported to North Hawaii Hospital in critical condition and later evacuated to Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu.
