A junior political science student at the University of Hawai`i at Hilo was recently awarded the prestigious Truman Scholarship. Elyssa Rae-Ann Correia, from Hilo, is one of 54 scholarship recipients from across the country and the only Hawai`i student to win. She plans to attend the William S. Richardson School of Law at UH Manoa. As an active member of her community, Correia is involved with various community organizations such as the Penn Hawai`i Youth Foundation.
