From Hawaii Police Department: A Holualoa man has been charged with a dozen offenses after reportedly brandishing weapons at a family party Saturday night (April 21). Kona patrol officers responded to the Imin Center in Holualoa at 10:50 p.m. Saturday to a report of a disturbance involving a large group of people. They learned that a 34-year-old man had reportedly wielded a handgun at the community center during a baby’s birthday party and threatened the life of a 48-year-old acquaintance from Kailua-Kona. From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police have charged a 43-year-old man who was arrested Wednesday (April 18) in connection with a stabbing incident in K?poho. Jeffrey Robert Perkins of K?poho was charged at 11:45 a.m. Friday morning (April 20) with one count of first-degree assault and seven counts of second-degree assault. His bail was set at $19,000. From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police have charged a 55-year-old Waikoloa woman with identity theft and seven other offenses in connection with the theft of various items from a 91-year-old family member. South Kohala patrol officers responded to Waikoloa Village Monday (April 16) to a report that the suspect had stolen jewelry and cash from a 91-year-old woman who was visiting from California. Hawaii Police Department has formally identified a  Hilo man who died April 11 in a vehicle-bicycle collision on Kino’ole Street in Hilo.  He was identified through dental records Wednesday (April 18) as 20-year-old Brody H. Winslow, formerly of Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. Allison E. Big Island police have charged a 40-year-old Volcano woman who was arrested after a hit-and-run vehicle-bicycle crash in Hilo on Wednesday (April 11). Alison E. Taylor was charged at 12:05 a.m. Friday (April 13) with negligent homicide, accident involving death or serious injury, failure to provide information or render aid, driving with a suspended license and inattention to driving. Her bail was set at $8,500. She remained at the Hilo police cellblock until her initial court appearance later Friday.

From Hawaii Police Department: Big Island police have located 22-year-old Misinale Kalavi Jr. of Kea’au, who was wanted for questioning in connection with an apparent shooting last year that injured a Puna man. Kalavi turned him self in at the Pahoa police station Wednesday (April 11) and was arrested on suspicion of attempted second-degree murder. After conferring with prosecutors, police released him pending further investigation.

From Hawaii Police Department: A Kona woman who allegedly stole a rental car has been charged with seven offenses. On March 4, Kona patrol officers received a report that 29-year-old Michelle T. Regohos had not returned the 2012 Nissan Altima sedan she had rented at the Kona airport. Police put out an all-points bulletin for the woman and the car. Shortly before 7:29 a.m., a 40-year-old Volcano woman was traveling south on Kino?ole Street south of Ohea Street in a 2005 Toyota Tacoma when she struck a 20-year-old Hilo man riding a bicycle in the same direction. The Kona Crime Prevention Committee recognized Officer Sharon Yoon as “Officer of the Month” for April in a luncheon ceremony on Wednesday (April 4) at Huggo’s restaurant in Kailua-Kona. Yoon was honored for her efforts in a burglary case and a drug case. Yoon was assigned to the burglary case on January 1. Shortly before noon, Kona patrol officers responded to Kona Community Hospital to a report of a man who was dead on arrival.
