Said Brouwer, “I…looked inside and there was around 400 bucks in it (and credit cards). Then Bodie and gave it to security.”
Waimea Middle School Principal John Colson learned about the incident from WMS teacher Kara Onaka-Winters, so called in the students to acknowledge them for “living the school’s core value of Integrity – Doing the right thing no matter who is watching.” As he presented them with a small gift certificate, he said: “The money you found may have been that person’s whole week’s pay…you did the right thing and we hope you enjoy this little reward!”
